But we think her expertise in water issues, education, transportation, health and public safety — and her accessibility to her constituents — would serve this district well.
Tracy Press, 10/22/2008
If the 900,000 people of this district are to surmount such challenges, its voters will have to choose wisely. They will need a senator with a record of working with the Governor's Office and passing legislation. On that score, Democrat Lois Wolk is clearly the best choice.
Wolk, a teacher who has spent two terms (sic) representing the 8th District in the Assembly, has proved herself to be an effective legislator.
Sacramento Bee, 10/13/2008
Wolk has passed bills, has worked well with the governor and has developed a relationship with Darrell Steinberg, the next Senate president pro tem. Her knowledge and clout should serve the 5th Senate District well in coming years.
Modesto Bee, 10/14/2008
Wolk has always had the reputation of someone who stays busy, engaged and gets things done. Her list of committee assignments is numerous and varied, from banking and finance, to natural resources and veteran affairs, biotechnology, domestic violence and others. ... We believe Lois Wolk is a wise choice to represent our community as senator from the 5th Senate District.

[Wolk] has the ability to negotiate and mediate when necessary, and can be counted on to be solutions-oriented. Vacaville Reporter Editorial, 10/13/2008
"Lois Wolk is an exemplary public servant who operates above and beyond the call of duty. This is reflected in the professionalism of her staff and their dedication to constituent services. She dropped everything to honor my cousin, a soldier who did not reside in her district, simply because the request came from a constituent. I thank Ms. Wolk for her caring assistance and look forward to having her represent me in the State Senate."
Anthony Barcellos in the Vacaville Reporter, 10/8/2008
The Vacaville Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Political Action Committee has endorsed Assemblywoman Lois Wolk, D-Solano, for the 5th Senate District seat. Both Assemblywoman Wolk and Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian were questioned by the committee during a forum last month.

Vacaville Reporter, 10/8/2008
